Hello, I have recently been converted to using Firefox, but after a few days use I begun doing my typical ad-aware/ spy bot scans and I had a massive amounts of ad-ware, cookies and such.
Now, I was told that Firefox was less subtable to malware, and that was the reason for my "conversion" but EVIDENTLY, this is not so... Is there nothing I can do to cut down on all these cookies/ ad-things I am receiving? I love the browser, it seems faster- and it's customizable. Maby there is an add-on I can install to cut down on these things? Please someone help. :)
Thanks

Add AdblockPlus, Flashblock and NoScript. That should stop the majority of irritating commercial stalkers. When they can run their javascripts they can't track you.

Since speed is an interest, add FasterFox too.

use NoScript and AdBlock
when loading a page it may not display properly, bottom right there will be an S with a red circle and strike through it, click on this to allow the site your trying to utilize, notice the other sites trying to connect.
