He was a tank warfare instructor for the army, so he probably had some knowledge of them.

He died in 1992.

As a side note, he also played professional basketball ( Boston Celtics) and professional baseball ( Dodgers & Cubs ), and was drafted by the Chicago Bears but never played. He's also the first man to break an NBA backboard.

Chuck Conners knew guns. I am not sure if I would call him an expert.

Sadly Mr Conners died of cancer some time ago: 10 November 1992, Los Angeles, California, USA. (lung cancer and pneumonia)
