what?

the intake manifold and catalytic converter are two separate pieces on EVERY car.

the manifold connects to the cat converter, which filters the exhaust gases, sends them into the exhaust pipe and out the rear of the car, but they are two different pieces.

that's like if i ask you:
"my tires and my rims, two separate pieces or one?"

On that car the catalytic converter is an integral part of the one-piece intake manifold. the intake and the converter must be replaced as a unit and cannot be replaced separately.

Honda does have an 8 year/80,000 mile warranty on the manifold and converter. You may still qualifiy for replacement at no charge if you are under that mileage.

those manifolds were prone to cracking between the runners and the collector. they can be welded to seal the cracks if thats the problem and the car is not under warranty.
