Can you be a big brother to someone you are not related to?

yes. girls do like to have older brothers cuz sometimes they can go to their big bro for help if not their parents. :)

i have always wanted a big brother, i am the oldest of child in my family and they look up to me and need me sometimes but there is no one for me to look up to or go to for anything, having a big brother i think would be great because a girl also needs a supportive guy in her life that isnt trying to have sex with her...that is soooo important, all my girl friends who have older brothers have also turned out to be much better and sensible and confident people than the ones who dont, and the whole being related part, doest seem that important as long as you think of eachother in family terms.

I have a big brother. I love him. When we were younger we used to fight a lot. But now we are older and more mature. Now I'm 16 and he is 21. I think you can be a big brother to someone you aren't related to by how you treat them. Like my best friend/cousin is like almost 2 years younger and shes more like a sister to me. Yes you should help her without asking anyone out. You should take her to places she wants to be but also places to hang out with you so you can bond. Just spend time with her, be protective, and treat her like shes your blood sister even if she isn't.

Just let her know that you are there for her if she every needs you. It's really sweet to have someone to protect her. Make sure she has your cell number for emergency. Every once in a while you can ask to go to the movies or get ice cream. I have a younger brother but he sometimes gets protective of me like if he's older. WE love hanging out and doing things together when we have a chance. WE're both married now with kids so when we do have alone time, we like to joke around and make up stories.

Big brothers seem to be more appreciated by little sisters if there isn't a father figure in the house or in their lives. You tend to take on kind of a double duty kind of thing when that happens.
Just put yourself in her shoes...what do you think she wants from you as a big brother? You know her better than anyone else.

Girls LOVE having older brother type friends.
Lord knows I have a house full of them.
And I'm an only child.
I have this friend, Wil, and he's like 5mo. younger than me, and about 4 ft shorter but he swares he's my big brother.

Yeah, I even have an analogous difficulty, basically my brothers 24 and their is and eight 3 hundred and sixty 5 days age distinction between us. he's have been given his own place yet he makes a decision he needs to make my existence depressing by using sneeking into the homestead and enjoying pranks in my room, and everytime a guy hits on me he threatens to triumph over them up, and as quickly as he hit me together with his truck on purpose, and oh yeah when I "broke" my automobile and that i replaced into caught in school, and he had to return %. me up, i replaced into waiting outdoors with a gaggle of people, he got here using by using with u . s . a . song blaring, in that stupid truck of his and yelled a gaggle of insults at me and drove off!!!!!!! sorry i replaced into only fuming, it incredibly is basically a loving brother's instinct to make your existence depressing : )

Don't try too hard... If a girl doesn't want a boyfriend, don't push anything on her. Respect her. :) But be nice you know. Be a good friend...
