if you take her off the breast... you will dry up. Pump if you can to keep an active supply. It sounds like you may be under hydrated.
Drink lots of fluids.
Avoid salty food for a bit.
Pump!
There may be something else you ate that she is finding a bit too strong. Spicy foods? Onions? Garlic? Go to a simple diet and see if that changes anything.
Good luck!!!! And thank you for sticking with it!!!!

You have any pain?? Possibly mastitis could cause this?
When a breast starts producing much less than it previously had, as occurs during weaning, the milk can also take on a salty taste. I'm not sure if the sour taste you describe could be part of the same process but I suspect it could or that the sourness you describe is a result of the increase in sodium in the milk.

Your milk is just fine, but you aren't nursing enough. Stick her on the breast for longer and more often. Also drink more water. Should clear up in a few days. Babies go through periods where they don't eat a lot and then drink a ton during a growth spurt. She's probably a busy baby.
I think it's admirable to nurse to 2.

You have to be carefull what you eat and what medicines you take. Any medicine you take will be in the milk and given to your baby. Your diet is important to watch because it determines the quality of milk you produce. Lots of books and websites on what to eat. If you feel this isn't it, then call your doctor and they can probably isolate the problem over the phone. If not and you want to continue breastfeeding, go in for a check up. You don't want to take a chance with your child.

Kudos for BF that long, i nursed my son till he was 16 months ( then got pregnant) and he didn't like the taste-- which is what could be the case for you. Or if you are excercising a lot you could have some lactic acid build-up which is fine for baby, just ttry to nurse before you work out so that the LA has time to diffuse out.
Pump, she she could just be on a "nursing strike" she'll get over it, keep offering it and pump!

Have never heard of this, except for a change in diet. Your body may be done with the breastfeeding for reasons that may never be known, but I would certainly see my doctor in case it has to do with the overall health of the breasts. I think your baby's reaction is more than enough reason to stop, and you've done the right thing whatever the case may be.

Nope. it is not ninety% sugar. The physique does not discard sensible power basically for sperm to swim around in. opposite to the well-known expertise, there is amazingly little protein in it the two. It tastes salty via fact all physique fluids style salty. i think of it has something to do with the sodium.. yet i need to be incorrect. All's i will say is .. save sampling... oh and adult adult males.. for the checklist.. apparently eating pinneaple juice makes it style extra suited.

In my opinion breast or bottle feeding should be stopped by age one, mainly so their teeth dont rot out. Your breastmilk may taste salty due to your diet. Or if you taking medications, you should definately NOT continue to breast feed.
Make an appt with your pediatrician and your gynocologist and for god sakes dont call the leleche league they will have you convinced to breast feed until age 5 and that in my opinion is just sick.
Your baby may be depleting you of milk, WHICH MEANS BABY NEEDS TO EAT CEREALS FRUIT ETC switch to the formula your pediatrician tells you too

I have heard that breast milk can turn salty when you are pregnant. Could you be pregnant again?
If you can not nurse her any longer, at 1, she is able to drink whole milk. Also, most pediatricians only recommend nursing til your baby is 1...so, consider your job done. You did great!

drink tons of water and pump til it seems better. And eat healthy, the salty thing is probably too much sodium in your diet, remember everything you eat goes to her.
