Lines p and q are parallel. The slope of p is 5 and the slope of q is 10/v. What is v?

Parallel lines have the same slope.
Therefore:
10/v = 5
v = 2.

(y - 2) / (x - (-3)) = (5 - 2) / (-4 -(-3))
(y - 2) / (x + 3) = -3
y - 2 = -3x - 9
y = -3x - 7.

Parallel lines have the same slope. Thus, the slopes of p anq are the same, and

5 = 10/v
5v = 10
v = 2

The two-point canonical form of a line is:

[(y1-y2)/(x1-x2)](x-x1) = y - y1

The problem gives

x1=-3, x2=-4, y1=2, y2=5

Substituting into the two-point form...

[(2-5)/(-3-(-4))](x-(-3)) = y - 2
(-3/1)(x+3) = y - 2

-3x - 9 = y - 2

-3x - 7 = y

parallel lines have equal slopes. therefore, 10/v=5. we can then isolate the variable, so that v=2.

THe equation is y=-1x+-1

If 'p' & 'q' are parallel then they have the same slop/gradient; in this case '5'

So 5 = 10/v
v = 10/5 = 2

Gradient (m) =
(5-2)/-4 --3)
3/-1
= -3

y = -3x + c
2 = -3(-3) + c
2 = 9 + c
c = 2 - 9 = -7

y = -3x -7

v=2 because parallel lines have equal slopes

Line p and q will have same slope. so v is 2.

The formula is: (x-x')/(x'-x")=(y-y')'(y'-y")

So, put the points in the equation.
3x+9=2-y
3x+y+7=0

parrell lines have the same slope so 10 / v = 5
so v = 2

line that passes through the points take the slope of the lines

(y1-y2)/(x1-x2) = m (where m is the slope)

then sub into eqn

y-y1 = m (x -x1)
