for you sports know it all's why are there no left handed catchers in baseball? ihave tried every no one knows do you?

It's hard for a lefty to throw to third from the catcher's position. That means teams would steal third on lefty catchers. There have been a few lefties in the last 20 years who caught in emergencies - Benny Di Stefano, for sure, and I think Mike Squires did it, too.

The reason is that most hitters are right handed. It is more difficult for a left-handed thrower to throw around a right-handed batter.

Another factor is that a right-handed catcher has his glove-hand on the base-runners side on plays at the plate.

All the would-be catchers get put at first base.

i dont know right handers have stronger arms
