I am installing windows xp on a new hard disk, and want to get files from my old hard disk with the same windows xp on it. The old hard disk had problems booting windows xp. How can I put both hard disks in my computer and copy the files i want from my old hard disk to the new one without doing anything to mess things up?

Easiest option is to get a USB hard drive caddy, install XP on new drive, once set up and with anti virus connect USB hard drive caddy, windows find old drive in it and copy files you need.

Good luck.

You can set the jumper on the old hard drive as slave and leave it in the computer or get a hard drive case at Best Buy or somewhere that will let you plug it into a USB port.
