Can contestants be married?
A: No. contestants may not be married or pregnant. They must not have ever been married, not had a marriage annulled nor given birth to a child. The titleholders are also required to remain single throughout their reign.

I think these laws are engineered by jerks to keep the world dirty as much as possible, in order to promote a downgraded, obscenity in the society.
In my humble opinion a ladies place is like a sweet mother, a loving wife, an adoring sister, I wish I had a sister as we are only four brothers.

Because it is presumed that the woman, who must spend the ENTIRE YEAR traveling must focus on that job alone. If you have a spouse or a child, the job would not be your entire focus. The Ms Universe business enterprise, as a private company, has a right to set reasonable rules concerning contestants.

There are several reasons. One is that sex sells. A single female is much more attractive than a married female, even if they are identical. Another reason is that our society seems to think that married women should not be sex objects (and that's what Ms. Universe is).

MISS usually indicates "has not been married" hence MRS for "is, or has been, married" - Check out Mrs America and Mrs Universe for an ample sufficiency of married pulchritude.
