I took my car to Discount tire where they broke a bolt off of my axle. I drive a 98 toyota avalon. It's a 5 lug. Question is how do I remove the bolt assembly to take it to get a new bolt replaced?

the bolt assembly is removed by taking the car back to discount tires and raising a stink about how they broke it and are responsible for fixing it...and do it in the showroom in front of other customers

DISCOUNT TIRE IS ONE OF THE FEW PLACES THAT REGULATE THEIR AIR PRESSURE AND WHEN THEY PUT THE TIRE BACK ON THEY USE A TORQUE WRENCH TO TIGHTEN IT BACK TO SPECS.

THE VEHICLE IS 9 YEARS OLD AND THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS.

YOU WILL NEED A BRASS HAMMER IN CASE YOU MISS AND HIT ONE OF THE BOLTS AND NOT JUST A METAL HAMMER.

YOU WILL NEED A SPACER TO PUT AROUND THE NEW BOLT A LUG NUT AND A IMPACT WRENCH.

YOU WILL INSTALL THE NEW BOLT IN PLACE, PUT THE SPACER AROUND IT, TIGHTEN UP THE LUG NUT WITH THE IMPACT AND THIS WILL PULL IT THROUGH.

OR GO TO A SHOP AND THEY WILL BE ABLE TO DO THIS IN ABOUT ONE HOUR, ABOUT $75.00 TO $85.00.

ALSO YOU SHOULD PUT ANTI-SEIZE ON ALL OF THE LUG BOLTS SO THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN
