It does not induce labor. If you research it on teh internet you will find studies that report decreased cahnces of type 1 diabetes as well as increased intelligence in teh children of mother swho took it during pregnancy. But you will also find sites that say to stay well away from it.

Ya it works the same as castor oil, when my mother was pregnant with me, my nan gave her a cup of castor oil and brandy and sure enough she went into labour after an hour, please take into account that was 20 years ago when that happened and castor oil or cod liver oil or brandy is not advised anymore. Also drinking castor oil or cod liver oil is really dangerous in case u dont actually make it to the hospital on time

cod liver oil is not recommended in pregnancy as it contains very high levels of vitamin A, and i am sure you have been told to avoid liver products because of the vitamin A, and i know it may sound silly but so many people do not even realise cod liver oil is actually oil produced by the cod's liver! Although i HAVE taken Castor oil in the past, i would not recommend it! it has some very nasty side effects ands its a taste you will never forget EVER! It did work for me! but i have heard of other people who it didn't work for!

do not take cod liver oil in excess as it contains vitamins A & D and overdosing on this can cause liver damage and harm your unborn baby, and castor oil will not start off labor either

I cannot see how it would help, unless it helps the baby slip out easier but it tastes fishy whereas Castor oil tastes yeuk.

i believe u mean castor oil and it was used to make your bowels work, also a hot bath was always recommended to relax u and help bring on labour, [not too hot though]

stick to hot curries and pineapple juice, raspberry tea etc, from what i researched when i was pregnant the oil is not too good and all it does is gives you the runs, nipple stimulation to get your milk flowing is supposed to be good because it releases a hormone which is supposed to make your womb contract.or sex and a hot bath!!!!!!!
