John Steinbeck said the secret to getting rich was to sell something made by someone else.

Kurt Vonnegut said the secret to getting rich was to find the money-river and siphon out as much money as you can.

Were they right? If they were wrong, what's the real secret to getting rich?

Forget all the crap people tell you about sure fire ways to get rich by sending them money and selling their product and buying their stock.

The way to get rich is this:

1. Spend less than you earn.
2. Never pay interest on anything that depreciates unless it can make you money.
3. Don't pay more in taxes than is necessary.

Do that consistently and you'll be rich. How long it takes depends on how well you do all three.
