Generally your supposed (by female standards) to apply to areas on your body that naturally exude more heat (wrists, elbows, knees, necks). I like to put some on my hands and run them through my hair and over my clothing too. It doesn't apply much but, it does give a stronger smell when people are near you.

Any more than that will be too strong. Those areas get hot very rapidly, and will make scent work for hours.
