The top 3 museology programs are in NYU, George Washington University, and Harvard.

just opinion:
* Harvard and NYU are museum studies only
* George Washington, U Mo. St Louis, and UNC-G is academic field + museum studies.
Harvard has the advantage of being Harvard but that program is in the extension school.
GWU is in Washington DC and there are some fine places to look at museums there. NYU has real art.

Top three by whose criteria?
I would write the museums you might want to work at or with to see what they think. It does not matter what any one else thinks about a given program, just the people hiring you.
