Olive was on my top 10 list. I've always loved the name, and it was actually very popular way back when. I fell in love with it even more after watching "little miss sunshine" Hubby vetoed it, though. Its a great name.

I love the name Olive!!!! I'm a little tired of the name sophie 'cause it's been used soooo much in the last few years, but Rowan has been one of my faves for years

If you can tolerate the Olive Oyl jokes, go for it. Have you tried standing up and shouting the full name, as though you're yelling out the door for your kid? It sounds better if Sophee and Olive are swapped, to me.

It's definately different...but I'd choose Olive over something like Phoenix.
And don't worry- she wouldn't get made fun of for being called Olive (some are going to say this)- I teach kindergarten and I used to teach 5th grade; kids accept the weirdest names, trust me.

I think Olive is a perfectly lovely name. It's not too common which makes it all the better. Also, it was my great-grandmother's name.
