first off ill start by saying congrats on getting your period! anyway, i had this same problem 2 months ago too.after i told my mom, i noticed it wasnt a problem, lol. but i just waited untill my mom was down stairs by herself and i just started talking to her about something...like a TV show or a sport. and then i said..."mom, there is blood in my underwear" and i knew she would know that was my period, but i was too scared just to say, "mom i got my period" so when i said to her that there is blood in my underwear, she said softly, "honey, did you get your period?" and im like "yeah, i guess" and she put her arm around me and said, "well, did you use those pads i gave you the other day?" and im like "yep" and she said" good, well...this is exciting!" then i said" yeah, but my stomach really hurts!" and then she gave me medicine. well, sorry if that was really boring, but i was scared to tell her, but remember:
1.) she went through this SAME thing and she had to tell her mom
2.) its just TALKING! :)
2.) if you think about it, your period is just blood, so imagine it as just talking to your mom about blood, no biggie..right?!?!?

well, anyway, good luck! and congrats! hope this helped! instead of boring you to sleep ;)

Congratulations! Now why would you be embarrassed? Your Mom knows you're a girl and this would happen sooner or later. She has seen more of your bum than probably anyone else in the world. How about: "Mom, I'm kinda embarrassed, but I just started my period."

As a mom, I was always a little sad when my girls got their period cause they weren't my little babies anymore. Saddest story: my daughter started in 5th grade (way too young as far as I was concerned). So at end of week long period, I asked her if we should go to get more supplies for her next period. She said, "you mean this happens again!!!!"

This is the first time i have ever felt like hugging someone on Y/A!

Its easy for me to say dont feel embarassed but i remember when i started mine, i was 10 and i was so embarassed to say the words so i got my little brother to tell my older sisters (he didnt understand what a period was so it was ok lol)

If you cant get the words out leave her a note somewhere - then she will come to you, and all will be sorted.

Bless you love and dont worry, mum will understand.

Congrats! I bet you are excited? (kidding) :) Your mom will completely understand; it is nothing to be embarassed about. Tell her..in private. I would also try just pads for the first time before using tampons in order to get use to having a period. good luck!

You could just say "hey mom I got my period, and I think I stained my underwear, how can I get the stain out?" or just ask her for some pads Or tell her you need some Advil becuase you thinkk you have cramps ( if you do ) or a heating pad, etc

just tell her, she knows what you are going throw. and I think it's going to be a little embarssing regardless. Just pull her aside or ask to talk to her alone and tell her. I am sure she will be very happy for you... congrats by the way.

You could send her an email or write her a letter. Sometimes it is just best to go up to her and blurt it out. Say "Mom I have my period". She will be very understanding.

You don't have to say anything if you don't want to. Or you can make a light joke and tell her that you're glad that it started now and NOT while you were in the classroom!
