Marino is the man.
Favre is good, but lacks the Marino class. When he GAVE Strahan the sack record a few years ago, he lost a lot of credibility with me. His own offensive line said it was a run play and were surprised when he rolled out. Watch the play. He lays down like the girl he is and let Strahan land on him. I bet he enjoyed it.
Marino is the best to ever play.

Favre is the QB iron-man. There is no QB that will probably ever come along have have 260+ straight starts as a QB without ever missing a game. If Marino gets passed by Favre, Favre will be the passing/touchdown king.
In the last 15 years, ever single season, Favre has had 3,000+ yard seasons. How many other QB's can you say are that consistent with that many yards? Quit hating on Favre because he is and will be the best QB that has ever played the game which is why he will be in the hall of fame. Favre isn't past his prime because he has an arm on him that could still out-throw an QB in this league. If he has an offense that steps up this year, Favre will do some damage. As of right now, it looks like allot of rookies are going to step up to get the pack to the top. After all, the GB Packers have the most world championships out of any team. Favre plays for the love of the game not for a stupid record. Records are meant to be broken but Favre's legacy will ive on for years to come in this league. Now, every player is in the NFL for the money. Favre is still in it for the love of the game.
Favre is a great QB and it is great to see him come back and play a 17th season in the NFL

Well that's where your wrong buddy. No knock on Dan Marino, but Brett Favre will be known as the touchdown king from now o. Why? lets look at some facts:
It took Marino 17 full seasons (He started week 6 of his rookie season but close enough) to get to 420. Favre has been in the league 16 seasons but in 15 years of starting has thrown 414, and my guess by the time he retires (assuming he plays into 2008) will be somewhere around 450.
Favre never had hall of fame receivers and supporting cast like Marino did thorughout his career. Mark Duper and Mark Clayton were with Marino for 10 seasons. Sure Marino didnt have a defense, but all the Dolphins worried about was the passing game so they jsut stockpiled weapons for marino and nothing else.
You say Marino provided year in and year out. So did Favre. I don't want to hear about the crap your saying about his performace in recent years. NO Quarterback could survive on those rebuilding years with the youngest, inexpreinced team for the last 3 years. Not Favre, not Montana, and not Marino. But the ironic thing is he still managed almost 4000 yards in 05 and 06 with 20 TDs and 18 TDs.yeah youll bring up the INTs, but jsut remember that Marino was a pick thrower too with 255 total.
I'll give credit to where credit is due. Marino is the best pure passer of all time, but records are meant to be broken, and although Manning looks to be on pace to own them all, theres a new TD King right now, and it's Brett Favre.

Well, Brett has a better completion percentage (and more completions, and the longest completion between the two of them), and has more 3,000+ yard seasons than anyone else (2 more than Marino). Favre also led the league in TD's 4 different seasons, while Marino only did that 3 times. He also had a longer streak of consecutive games with a TD (36) than Marino (30). To be fair, Marino had 2 more games in his career with 4 TD's or more than Brett, but Brett's career isn't over yet. He only needs what, 7 more TD's to break Marino's record?
I guess only time will tell.

If you look at it factually you can say "Favre has more TDs than Marino." And that will be true after this season, but to say who the better QB is, is a matter of opinion and there is no right or wrong answer.

I agree Dan Marino is the greatest regular season quarterback of All time. I never remember Marino throwing all the interceptions that Favre does.
Best regular season quarterbacks:
1) Dan Marino
2) John Elway
3) Steve Young
4) Joe Montana
5) Brett Favre
Best Postseason Quarterbacks:
1) Joe Montana
2) Tom Brady
3) Bart Starr
4) Terry Bradshaw
5) Troy Aikman

Who said that in order to be the 'Touchdown King', you can't throw interceptions? This isn't like with Bonds and the Home Run record - that was broken by cheating. Favre will break the record by being competitive, consistent, and always on the field.
Favre will break the record, along with many others. That is the purpose of records. Marino has held the record for longer than Favre will, as long as Payton stays healthy, so get over it.

You are a mental case...They are both legends...but I hate to break it to you...Brett Favre is the bigger legend...He has a Super Bowl...Marino doesn't...
But the one who said Peyton will be the best ever is a BIGGER mental case...Joe Montana still is, until Tom Brady gets 5 Super Bowls...Peyton won't get that far...
