Why do conservatives believe lies like "liberalism is dying"?

Here's a long term study showing exactly the opposite. More people now have;

More support for government programs.

Less social conservatism.

Less religious intensity and more people are becoming secular.

Less reliance on military solutions.

With all the mess we as a nation are in, they have to grab for straws somehow.
We need a president like Franklin Roosevelt again, and Hillary is the closest thing we have to it. It will take her years to straighten it out, but I have confidence she's up to the challenge, and according to all the polls, I am not alone.

I would not put so much faith in opinion polls. They are easily skewed by such factors as: Sample size, sample composition, current events, age group, likeliness of voting, wording of questions.

For instance, Zogby recently tried to pull a fast on by reporting that at 72% of the troops in Iraq wanted us to pull out by next year. Close examination of the question this was based on shows that the only choice the question left was pull out now or pull out next year. It said nothing about whether or not we should stay until victory is achieved.

I have participated in seveal Zogby polls. The way the questions are asked has a lot to do with who is paying to have the poll taken. Pollsters do not do polls for free. They will ask whatever the person paying for it wants asked and will ask whomever the person paying for it wants included.

The only poll that matters is the general election. It does not matter what someone thinks if they do not vote.

I saw the "question" by a poster who claimed that "liberalism is dying" and I ignored it, like you should have. Please do not spread propoganda by repeating it.

But I'd like to know how you can claim that there is "less social conservatism," and that "more people are becoming secular." I guess you get that info from the same source as the poster who claims that liberalism is dying.

You provide a link to a site run by lefties and one of their boasts is that there has been a decline by 8 points in the number of people who believe in "old fashioned values like family and marriage" ... from 84% to 76%.
