Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally. Remember that? Order of operations is always important.
To multiply out the x+4 in parenthesis, remember to multiply everything inside seperately by whats on the outside. You'll get it.

2-3(x+4)=8 Use the distributive property
2-3x - 12=8 add 12 on both sides
2-3x= 20 subtract 2
-3x=18 divide by -3
x=-6 negative 6

2-3(x+4)=8

you distribute 3 to x+4
-3(x+4)... multiply -3 by x then 4
3x + 12

2+-3x-12 = 8
-3x - 10 = 8.. add 10 to both sides
-3x = 18.. divide by -3
x = -6

2-3(x+4)=8
multiply -3 in bracket so you Will get,
2-3x-12=8
-3x-10=8
now arrange the numbers
-3x=18
x=18/-3
x=-6
