Where does this stuff come from. I can tell you if you do this you can and mostlikly run en your engine. Break fluid will eat the paint and some aluminum. Take it from a mechanic

A - Brake Fluid is for brakes, no longer engines B - till you have an actual sludge project, you do no longer ought to apply a flush. as a count of actuality, at a definite point, sludge must be disturbed and clog passages interior the engine. Use a high quality oil, it is going to combat the formation of sludge, notably a synthetic of semi-synthetic oil. C - in case you verify you have a sludge project, there are engine flushes available. You stress to a speedy-replace place, positioned the flush in, and enable it bypass, then get a warm oil replace to empty all of it out. yet provided which you verify you have a sludge project. in case you like to apply an additive to softly sparkling out sludge till now it is going to become a proble, use Rislone focus, no longer STP. Even the STP human beings do no longer declare to help with sludge in any way. that's sturdy for restoring compression in worn engines. %. up a bottle of STP Oil therapy and shake it. observe it does not shake. this is thick goo you would be including to the crankcase, goo that makes "a thicker cushion between shifting engine areas". %. up a bottle of Rislone focus, and observe it shakes approximately particularly certainly. study the labels on the two bottles till now you're taking my observe for it.

Don't do this. Brake fluid is highly likely to corrode a lot of things that it touches.
General Motors sells a fluid called Top Engine cleaner. Its a great product and has exactly the effect that you're looking for. You should be able to buy it from any GM/Chevrolet/Pontiac/etc dealer.

Robbie, I've been taking my cars to a local wand do - it - yourself car wash for 43 yrs. Simply raise your hood and blast away with high pressure soap.
Avoid spray on Gunk or other water based engine cleaners.
If you do this at home the motor will smell like kerosene when you rinse it off and the crud will be all over your driveway.
Your complete engine compartment will sparkle like new. Avoid the insulation padding attached to your hood. If this gets wet crap will drip back down on your fresh clean motor compartment. Do not worry about spark-plugs, wires or your distributor They are made of a silicone jacket and the terminals into the distributor and plug boots are pure silicone rubber. I guaranty your motor will start and you'll be smiling.

Personally, I try to keep the brake fluid in tight containment. That stuff has a rather aggressive composition. What are you actually trying to clean? I have never heard of any such "quick fix", but if you decide to do it, keep us posted.
