It could mean nothing other than your cervix is softening a little. It could mean you have dilated a little. It could mean labor is close, but maybe not. In essence - it means very little.
Hopefully if you are 42 weeks your doctor has spoken to you about induction. . . .

Wow, 42 weeks - hopefully you will be holding your little one soon. When the mucus plug comes out it all at once, it usually means labor will start within 48 hours, but sometimes it's a few days more.

Sometimes you lose the mucus plug days before labor, sometimes hours before, so there's no way to know for sure but you're definitely close.
Chances are you have dilated and effaced as well and could be in labor very soon.
All the best - 42 weeks is a long time to wait!

Are you optimistic it quite is the mucus plug? there's now not many times soreness linked with loosing the mp, yet some human beings have a bloody twinge to theirs. i could point out this on your wellness care professional and function him/her examine. that's an important area of shop, esp at 15 weeks!
