Please read the book yourself. It is wonderful. Or, you should at least learn how to do a search on Google Books. Here is a reference link. Good luck.

Definately, reading the book will help you immensely. Both with your homework questions as well as in-class discussions. You'll get a better grade in class and it makes future projects like this much easier.

Oh, and I would suggest not reading spark notes on it either. I've noticed they often leave things out. :|

I'd attempt to get one first-class paintings from each and every interval in English literature, a minimum of, to get a few thought of wherein modern day first-class works are coming from. Medieval Poetry: "Pearl", nameless Prose/Theatre: "Canterbury Tales", Geoffrey Chaucer Renaissance Poetry: "A Valediction Forbidding Mourning", John Donne Prose/Theatre: "Hamlet", William Shakespeare Eighteenth-Century Poetry: "I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud", William Wordsworth Prose/Theatre: "Gulliver's Travels", Jonathan Swift Victorians Poetry: "Goblin Market", Christina Rossetti Prose/Theatre: "A Tale of Two Cities", Charles Dickens Twentieth Century Poetry: "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock", t.s. eliot Prose/Theatre: "1984", George Orwell

Actually, the book is talky, annoying and overrated--but I'm afraid you're still going to have to read it yourself (or at least disguise your homework question better).
