For awhile, me and my boyfriend had been driving my car around on a flat. We stopped to fill it up not too long ago and then yesterday, on his way home from work, he turned and spun out of control.

It jacked the front passenger side of my car up (where the tire is) and some say that if the frame is bent, then my car will be considered totaled because that is not fixable? I'm no expert on cars but I'm almost postive that there is frame damage so I'm kind of scared. It sucks because other than that, the car is in perfect condition, runs great and is kind of new.

Any help?
Pontiac Grand Prix 2006.
Thanks!

if its going to take more than 80% of the actual value of the car to repair it,its totaled, they wont fix them back when there damaged that badly, its just not wise to ,they will total it, if it was over 80 % of it value in damage, good luck on it.

The body can be put on a frame alignment machine and it can be straightened and returned to the proper position.

With the age of your car, I doubt that it will be totaled, unless there is some other body damage you didn't mention.

These things can happen when you ride around with bad tires. So now you know, the next time pay the 10-20 dollars and have the tire repaired.

good luck.

A car is considered totaled when the cost of the repairs are more then the book value of the car. Some other factors enter into the equation such as salvage value and repair-ability of the car but money is the overriding factor. The insurance company will try to get out of it as cheaply as possible.
