Pick the phone you want and look at the deals. I upgrade my phone every two years and prefer Nokia over the others. I use my phone to hold data on everyone I come into contact with. I keep phone numbers, addresses both street, e-mail & web. With Nokia, I can do this with only one entry per person.

I don't use the phone a lot so I get their cheapest nationwide plan with rollover. It costs me $39.95 per month plus tax for 450 minutes per month. For my wife I canceled a extra phone for her, the taxes go way up if you have more than one phone, and got her a prepaid phone, GoPhone, for $20. Then I purchased 1,000 minutes to be used over a year for $100. When she calls me or anyone with an AT&T phone, there's no charge. Basically, I got her a cell phone to use for a year for $120, can't beat that.

We found our deal in the AT&T store. After the purchase of the GoPhone, we got a message they were adding 20% more minutes. A few days later we got another message they we adding another $5 in minutes.

If you combine land line, cell phone, DSL and TV, you can really get good deals.

We use our main phone all over the US, including five months in Alaska last year with absolutly no roaming charges. The prepaid will be used in Canada next year as the roaming charges are only $0.15 per minute compared to $0.35 on the regular phone.

We are fulltime RVer's and our phone is from Orlando, that way family members don't have to make long distance calls to get in touch with us. That's pretty cool, they call me in Alaska and it's a free call from Orlando.
