To tell you the truth I don't think the fires are an act of terrorism. Those who started the fires are just people who think with their wallet and not with their hearts. They definitely don't love our country, they definitely don't have our countrys best interest in mind but they aren't terrorists in my eyes, they are even worse.Terrorists do terrible things, but usually behind those things there is some ideal, they do it because of a cause(not that I approve or applaud any terrorist or their actions of course) and usually they die/get hurt in the process. Those who "started" those fires did it from the safety of their offices or homes, watched it from television, and think they haven't suffered from them(of course the whole of Greece is going to suffer from the consequences of the fires but they haven't got brains enough to think that far ahead) and their only cause was to get richer or more powerful. And I like to think that they weren't expecting the fires to take this huge proportions and they didn't want anyone to get hurt in the process of them.I do fear though that they think of those lost as "collateral damages",cause as I said in the beggining they don't think with their hearts. And of course we must face those people like an enemy of our country...
As for the second part of your question,I really don't know, but the question to ask is how many euro's are spend every year to give our parliament members houses, cars etc,how many euros are spend on stupid things that our country doesn't need(like new statues, rebuilding squares that were build just a few years ago etc etc). How many firefighters could we educate and hire with all that money spend?I don't think buying a submarine or a tank or frigate is a bad idea,it's making our army better and stronger and you never know when you are going to need them(as our forefathers said:Eso etoimos).I do think supporting those useless 300 of the parliament for the 4 years they are elected is...

Maybe an old and wellknown way of rulling the world and effecting the election results?
Sorry, I don't mean to insalt anyone but unfortunately I've red so much history that is obvious to me.
Fires in non touristical places? Fires in the hole country?
Remember:
-Spain in Madrid metro station just before the elections,
-Aliente loosing in 1970 or so the elections in Chile due to Mass Media war (he wanted to make changes in Chile.Who paid the Mass Media?)
-Do I have to remind you the Xrimatistirio "explosion" before our elections in 2000 (Greece)? (What happened with the Xrimatistirion profits after the elections? Do you think it is irrelevant?)
-Who acts so that the world be as they want it to be?
-Who gives wappons and helps the revolutioners around the world (south America,Africa, Far East), so that one can control both revolutioners and the governments?
I have many examples and despite any personal politican point of view, we must admite it, we must ask ourselves: who has a motive for doing such a thing and what kind of motive (financial, politican, ethical, sentimental)?
I am doing my doctorate in History (Byzantine, not Modern) and it is so common to me combining things.

At least in our country (Turkey) terrorists' way is to kill the nature!
It is just horrible!
These people are heartless, cruel to the other people's lives, to nature to everything around. And for what?
I am so sorry for the forests in all the countries i wish we could do something for that!

It is a possibility, at least in our country.

Else, how will you solve the problem of environmental terrorists among us, who respect their cash box more than the welfare of our people and wildlife?

We must demand no-building, replanting laws for all forests and 2b's, i.e. lands that gave lost the forest character. (Don't know the legal term for that. I'm only translating the Turkish term.)
