Why do minorities abuse animals so often?

Question

Everytime you turn on the animal planet channel and tune into the animal cops show there is some black man starving 3 pitbulls or leaving them for dead after they lose a dog fight or leaving them out in winter in detroit in the snow or some similar example. Recently DMX was caught abusing dogs. What's the deal with this? Go ahead and call me racist.
Then you can called the tortured animals racist too.

I also worked at a few animal hospitals and minorities in general seem to care less about their pets. They always complain about the price and act as though it is just an inconvenience to them not at all caring of the animals well-being. whereas poor whites are more willing to spend the little money they have.. so unless you've also worked at an animal hospital, dont try and dispute me on this.

Only some people are animal lovers but I don't think it applies as a nation.Ask any animal welfare organisation about the stuff they deal with . The yanks actually have the right idea about this as any animal cruelty that the Aspa become aware of has to be reported to child welfare too if there are children in the family the pet belongs to. This is because there is a proven link between animal & child abuse/neglect. Anyone who takes the attitude that its only an animal has a lot to learn

I have seen plenty of stories on animal planet about the little old white lady with 400 cats starving and living in feces in her home. Or the rednecks with malnourished horses being taken from their property before they die a sad death. Let's not generalize. There are enough selfish and sadistic animal abusers out there to go around in every racial and ethnic group.

You see a few cases of some black people mistreating animals and you take it and run with it. I think people of ALL races mistreat animals. It's wrong no matter what color you are. I don't think black people top the list of animal abuse either, so I think your statement is invalid. You are entitled to your opinion but don't take a couple of news headlines from CNN and build a case on black people because that's not right. I do believe that every race is involved in everything that happens in this world (rape, molestation, child abuse, drugs, murder, sodomy, theft, mental health), and some races are doing it more than others. But your statement alone is not enough to convince me, and probably not enough to convince others either.

I've seen just as many white people abuse animals on the animal cop shows, all races do. Its sad but just a human error. There are cheap white people too.

I haven't noticed minority's doing it more then others.but i will watch and notice and see if your right. i go door to door sales for 21 years now, and haven't noticed minority's being cruel or mean to their dogs and cats Its in human nature with some weirdos to hurt animals. no matter what their colour.I personally have been terribly hurt by blacks but i forgive them and know that all blacks aren't like that.Just feed the wild birds and animals in your yard and support the humane society and do what you can for animals . wrong! how dare you say its only minorites??? thats just because all you hear about are minorites. around here on my local news station ive heard about white people abusing animals also. so stuff it and read this and watch the video.

Give me a break. It isn't just members of racial minorities who harm animals. You are just capitalizing on two stories that the media has put out there where the person happens to be black. There are THOUSANDS of stories of animal cruelty that don't even make the newspapers! In those cases, a great number of the offenders are white.

A few examples in real life?

White people pay THOUSANDS of dollars to go on safari expeditions in Africa, kill the animals and leave their carcass out in the open.

Same thing with shark cage baiting...and other forms of so-called "eco-tourism."

What about puppy mills where people overbreed dogs and don't care what kind of diseases and disabilities happen...and they do it to make astronomical profits? Most of those are owned by whites!

It's rich white people who defend fox hunting in England.

It's white men who are obsessed with deer hunting season in the US and Canada, not most other minorities!

It's primarily white people who are involved in rodeo, and the animals used in that sport are grossly mistreated.

Most circuses are owned and operate by whites...and there have been countless allegations of animal cruelty against circuses.

What about "white" countries like Norway and Iceland who are INSISTING on their right to hunt whales?

What about all the so-called so-called "cat ladies" who have a gazillion cats living in awful conditions in their trailers or studio apartments? The vast majority of them are white, elderly women.

How many white middle class parents have bought their children cute little Easter bunnies only to neglect them after the holiday is over?

Why do you think most humane societies won't let black cats be adopted over Halloween? Because of people of ALL races who get off on torturing them!

How about in fiction? animal abusers are often portrayed as white and female. Two examples?

Glenn Close's character, Alex Forrest was boiling a bunny in the 1987 movie Fatal Attraction.

Cruella De Ville in 101 Dalmations was white. Hey, wait that's TWO acting role which Glenn Close played people who were cruel to animals...so does that make her someone who's cruel to animals in real life? Claiming that is about as fair as blaming all black people for animal cruelty.

I work for child protection services and we see abused animals in homes where children are abused and most likely, it's in the home of a lower income family
it's because they want possessions, things they didn't have, things that they think will make them look like a normal family, but they don't have the skills, the knowlege, the money it takes to care for them properly,
perhaps they've seen their own parents abuse and neglect their pets and so people think that's what you're supposed to do with animals. they bark, you hit them, they poop, you stop feeding them, they dig, you chain them to the hot water heater in the basement.
they were never taught to respect, appreciate, value, love animals
or their children
or themselves and because they have so few life skills, they tend to stay poor and uneducated.
they don't have the mental capicity to be responsible individuals, they are selfish, wanting to own animals without being able to be accountable for them
they're stupid, sick, individuals who need to be punished and kept from having animals and children in their homes
do you know that the first child abuse case was actually filed under animal abuse? there were animal abuse protection laws before child abuse protection laws. Interesting. I think it goes to show that in general we love our animals, like we love our children, but they'll always be those who are just plain losers.
