No. Beringia describes a vast area between the Kolyma River in the Russian Far East and the Mackenzie River in the Northwest Territories of Canada. The Bering Strait is just the gap between the two land masses.

Beringia is the land area (especially the prehistoric area that was once not covered by the sea) from Russia to Canada, and was 1000 miles from north to south. the Bering Sea has since divided Beringia.

Beringia was the land bridge connecting USSR with USA, and the straight is the water portion
