I want to design some business cards as a present for a friend. What is the standard size of a card so they will fit into a holder. Also where is the best place to get them printed?

Mine are 50 by 80mm.

They were printed in the UK so I take it that is a more or less standard size. I know that in the UK, "standard" means something different to everyone else, but I have not noticed that my cards are significantly diferent to any one else's although some others are considerably different and might not fit the customary wallets.

The standard size seams to be 2" X 31/2 " Driver licenses, credit cards and most plastic card are 2" X 3 3/8 " They all will fit in the card pockets of your wallet or card case.

I print my own on cards that are 85mm x 54mm. It is a convenient size for the wallet and also fits into the transparent plastic badges that clip onto clothes.
