when you go to a restaurant, how old do you have to be to order a wine.

To buy wine or beer you must be 16. To buy distilled alcoholic products yiou must be 18.

There is no legal limit on the right to DRINK however. So the parent of a child may give them wine with their meal even at an age less than 16.
