research please, as there are thousands of fishkeepers who want to breed bettas, and just buy a male and female and add them together without conditioning and wonder why something goes wrong.
Also if you dont know enough about bettas, you shouldnt breed right away.
There is no breeding season, as bettas can be bred all year round, but i personal like the spring season, as the fry are ready to go outside during the summer where they can get sun light.
Please do alot of research, betta breeding isnt cheap and that easy unless you know what your doing. Remember ANYONE can go to a petstore and buy a pair, BUT there are only a few that are smart enough to fully research them and are able to breed successfully. Alot of people who go rushing into it, fail and wonder why.
check out my betta site http://www.bcaquatics.com for betta help and breeding. I encourage you to look at about 100 different betta sites for breeding as well.
Please dont go rushing into it, this question shows that your not ready to breed bettas.
And if theres one thing i stress, is conditioning is key. Not only for babies but for the health of the breeders. 2 weeks is a must with live fatty foods like worms. People dont understand that they need to condition and they add a non ready female and she gets killed because they dont really care about the fish, they hear bettas are easy to breed and they want to say they breed a fish, and will do anything to breed them right away, Poor fish really, but it could be avoided if people did research before breeding.
Im sorry if i sound like im yelling, im very passionate about bettas, and have been researching, breeding, keeping bettas for 13 years. So i have seen plenty of people make basic mistakes when it comes to bettas.
