my boyfriend (21) is obsessed with video games. He's rather play some dumb game then talk to me- He ignores me. Then gets angry if I ignore him or refuse to make him dinner. Why should I? I work full time, go to college full time, do everything around the house, he works and plays video games. give me a break. Last month he told me he paid a bill- he did not he spent the money on video games.
what would you do if you were in this situation?

he does work and makes double what I make- but we work the exact same hours and the same place. he's just way higher up than me.
so he does help in paying bills- but I do the actual submitting money to the company part of it, but since he was on the tv all the time I told him to pay the bright house bill since it's paid on the tv....but nope he didn't do it and now I have a double bill.

funny you mentioned the mother role. Not even a week ago I told him I wasn't his mother and I wasn't going to keep cleaning up after him. Then he complained an hour later that he was hungry...

I'd flat out tell him "it's either got to be me or the video games. Take your pick" If he has that much spare time to play the games, he should be making his own dinner! Besides, he needs to understand you have a very busy schedule. I'd give him an ultimatum and let him know that what he's doing is simply unacceptable.

get a new boyfriend. Sounds like a taker who gives nothing back. Did I get this right: you go to school and work and do the cleaning and laundry and pay the bills while this fellow eats your food and sits in your house playing video games? Not much of a friend, much less a boyfriend. Get rid of the jerk. If you are going to have to share your house w/ a roommate, I would at least expect someone to pay 1/2 the expenses and help out around the house. My 12 year old does more than that now!

I'd tell him that you were getting tired of his playing video games and that you aren't very happy. Maybe figure out some way for the power to go out so he can't play them?

he sounds like a child. He sounds like he's made u into a mother type figure...ignoring you and then getting angry when u ignore him. Dump him - u can't change people. Find a more mature guy

sounds like you have yourself a very self centered guy there. the amount of money you/ he makes has nothing to do with your relationship. I'm not Ann Landers but i suggest you have a serious discussion with him or find a better partner- Quick. you are not a door mat.

I will be out of that relationship in a new-york minute.
I wanna be treated with some respect - and not like a maid.

You need a new boyfriend.
and video games can be a very powerful addiction...so I would be surprised if he would be able to give them up completely.

One thing I won't tolerate is being lied to!!! Because of this if it were me, I'd tell him to hit the bricks!!! Not because he didn't pay the bill, but because he lied about it!!!
