It is important to read the instruction manual when you are doing something important. However, if it just to pass the time, I will just wing it.

It honestly depends on what it is.... if it's something I know about already then I pretty much wing it. But if it's not, then I definitely read the manual even tho' I might be playing around with the item at the same time.

I just wing it. If it doesn't turn out right, then I'll go to the instruction manual.

I wing it until something I can't figure out forces me to open the manual. I am a visual learner, so those badly written instruction books make it difficult for me.

Usually I just wing it, but if that doesn't work I generally tend to then look at the manual.

Wing it! It's more fun that way. But if I get stumped for too long (doesn't happen often, though), I *will* read the manual since I don't want to look like an idiot/lazy bum by asking others instead. I hate it when others do that to me. D:

I usually just wing it and then i get p*ssed cuz i cant do it and then someone says "well did u read the manual?" and i'm like "no..." and then they read the manual FOR me, and then say "k u gotta do this" and then i just do what they say. Well i suck at putting things together so they do most of that too....

If it's a VCR... wing it. I'll just push buttons until something happens that I like.
If it's a piece of IKEA furniture with 15 pieces of wood, 30 wingnuts, 16 short screws, 12 nails, 30 bolts, a handfull of washers, hinges that look like they were invented by the Spanish inquisition, some pegs, some differently sized pegs, some other screws, and an allen key... pass the instructions please!
