.. would people stop complaining about the MOBOs being racist?
If so, i fully support the renaming of the Brit awards and NmE awards since they are in effect awards for music of white origin. The renaming would make things more accurate.

they dont need to be MOWO awards cos white is the dominant ethnicity in UK
only need MOBO cos black is an ethnic minority in UK

There's nothing wrong with MOBO being called MOBO. It emphasises music genres which were started off, predominantly, by black people. The MOBOs does accept non-black artists but stresses that their music has some black influence (e.g. soca, r 'n' b). However, I don't think the Brits should be changed to MOWO because the Brits emphasises a nationality not a race (i.e. music produced by British individuals). Plus, a lot of Brit music is influenced or part of music genres which aren't white-originated. British music today is diverse and you can't say that only white people made this happen by renaming it MOWO. If the Brits was changed to MOWO, then practically all the artists today couldn't be nominated for an award. Even Rock can't be claimed as music of white origin. (Rock 'n' Roll had non-white influences: think Elvis Presley and the black workers he sang with.)
