Yes... God sometimes permits shortcuts in life but with conditions. While proceeding on the path of spirituality one need practice celibacy (Brahmacharya Vrata) for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation! This builds up the requisite reserve of spiritual energy to awaken the Kundalini fully. Celibacy does not mean involuntary sexual abstinence.
Rightly practiced... in whatever stage of manifestation one be... one finally gains shortcut on the spiritual path and instead of taking the spiral path... the staircase... one takes the lift straight up and gains enlightenment (kaivalya jnana). Practice of celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years makes one reach the 8.4 millionth manifestation!
Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and prophet Mohammed... in whatever stage of manifestation they had been... all gained enlightenment by practicing absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation. Another means to shortcut is chanting the right mantra at the right time.
Chanting of right mantra in serious earnestness gives immediate results! In whatever stage of manifestation I may be... I cut across the shackles of Prarabdha karma by chanting the requisite mantra. This helped me crossover the ocean of Samsara (worldly life) by burning the karma in its entirety. Devoid of karma... I finally gained self realization in 1993. i was a hairdresser and have given many shortcuts in life , besides that heres something you might enjoy.....
Everything happens for a reason, nothing happens by chance or by means of good or bad luck. Injury, Illness, love lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, if they be events, illnesses or relationships, life would be a smoothly paved path to nowhere.
If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, foregive them. For they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to who you open your heart to.
If someone loves you, love them back uncondittionally, not only because they love you but because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart and eyes to things you never would have seen or felt without them.
Make everyday count. Apprichiate every moment and take from it everything you can, for you may never be able to expierience it again.
Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Hold your head up high because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you dont believe in yourself no one else will believe you either.
You can make your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it.

In a sense, yes. You might say for example that college is a shortcut to acquiring knowledge on certain subjects. But can you cheat life? Maybe temporarily, but it's just a postponement.

Sure. There are also people that took them and are in jail. Or hated. Or failures.
I never could understand why anyone would want to take a shortcut in LIFE - wouldn't that lead to a quicker DEATH?

Yes, but it can be regrettable because life's reward actually is in the journey, enjoy what we can of it and be grateful for the good. Short cuts cut out time along the way that could greatly benefit a person too.

There are a few rules that if you follow them religiously they pay off big time down the road:
Keep your agreements. Never say you can do something, when you know you cant or won't. So be on time (it's an agreement), and be prepared.
If you can't keep an agreement, let that person know ASAP that you won't, or maybe won't be coming through. Apologize.

We know that we do live and progress in a Fatherly and Friendly universe made and run by our Sovereign GODMAN JESUS CHRIST ! We know where we are and where we will be ! and who we are !!

Yes, Yoga.
It's the elevation of the narrow, fear-ridden,and desire tormented human mind, to a state of indescribable beauty, glory and bliss.
This is why people do Yoga.
