I sort of feel that this is the beginning of a Green movement. There's so much more publicity about saving the Enviroment, going Green, saving energy, etc. than there was when I was growing up. Or maybe I'm just noticing it now?
Seriously, I feel like the Green movement is taking off. It's something I think is great and would like to be a part of...But, I guess another question is, how can I be well informed about this and not just be taken as another flaky anti-government socialist? I don't want to jump onto something because it seems like the cool thing...And it really confuses me. Is all the liberal "it's basically the end of the world" stuff true? How much is propaganda?

Make it your own.
Some things you can do without spending ANY money - the nice side effect of these is that you save money:
1. Turn off the light when you leave a room.
2. Don't use Styrofoam - AT ALL. It's made from petroleum, and, worse, doesn't degrade in land fills.
3. Take your own bags to the supermarket.
4. Don't smoke.
5. Keep the tires on your car inflated properly (saves gas)
6. Use public transportation when you can, if you can; and walk more if possible.
7. Buy local produce whenever possible, from local farmers.
8. Use air conditioning only when your home is going to be above 90 degrees - you CAN get used to warmer weather.
9. Turn the heat on to only 65-68 degrees in the winter - you'll get used to it.
( #8 & #9 may need to be modified for health reasons)
10. Don't expect "them" to do it - - - - - - -
Being a good steward of our celestial home is a "do-it-yourself" project. It really doesn't have to be the end of the world to make us want to take better care of the world, does it?
We can be part of it - whether it's a formal, political movement or not. One by one, we can make a difference - and save money in the process.
For the skeptics - yes, I do most of them. There is no public transportation in my area, and I live out in the country so I have to drive more than I would like - to compensate I have chosen to slow down. I rarely use an expressway and try to never drive over 50-55 mph. (this does have an "annoyance factor" to other drivers who are oblivious to the reasons for slowing down). The stores love it when I bring my own bags - it saves them money (they buy the ones they give you).
I don't have central air (caveat: I live in the north) - but we do use room AC occasionally if our temps are over 90. I heat with oil (no gas lines out here) - and I keep the temp at 68 and put on sweaters. This is the hardest one for me as I am well beyond middle age and my skin seems to get thinner by the year.
Good luck - I'm sure you'll find "being green" less trouble than you might think and quite cost effective.

I think we're in a green movement. If you want more information you can visit certain websites or even go to your closest university/college. I'm guessing there would be a group or club that is affiliated with the green movement.
Some of the stuff that those liberals, as you say, say about the end of the world are true. Not that the end of world would happen but many things are damaging the environment. Other things are blown way out of proportion or are given too much concern when something else far worse needs more attention.

there is alot of hypocricy like with gore and some other pppl that are all green but not really if you look at some stats. there is alot of media and i think it will affect the next generaton (me 14) but not the 40 50 60 70 year olds you know? because there is a way they have been living but the younger the more able to change i think and the more open minded.
as for propaganda, the world is heating up but i mean anyone who said its the end of the world is probably wrong lol but i dont know the earth could explode tomorrow
also fossil fuels are being used up. once they are all used up then we need another way to get energy. they could be gone in 100 years we dont know specifically but there are projections. they wont last us 200 if you ask me. still 200 years is a long time to fix like the carbon thing or whatever. i think once the fossil fuels are gone then like it will stop heating up so much ppl don't really think about that .

The only real reason we need to use "green" fuels is because fossil fuels take millions of years to develope and we are depleting our sources. Its not because of Global Warming which doesnt even exist. It is getting hotter though due to the Sun going through a cycle, like Earth going through seasons, and at the end of the cycle the temp will drop and there might even be a Little Ice Age.

in accordance with what i've got examine on GS and on different Feminist boards, definite - a number of Feminists from the US, uk, Canada, etc, have been incredibly appreciative of those stupid anti-male measures. as properly, this is a properly-ordinary reality that Feminist agencies in international locations like the US, uk, Australia, and a number of international locations in Europe, share training discovered and "ideal practices". So i might truthfully be shocked if any genuine Feminist truthfully -hostile- those sexist recommendations and measures.

"Going Green" is another money making scheme.... Everything "environmentally friendly" is always more freaking expensive.
It's like the FDA approving 34 (I think) non organic chemicals that companies are allowed to put in food and still put "Organic" on the label. ORGANIC MEANS ORGANIC!

There's publicity, but not much action yet.
In my opinion, even if it isn't, we are still helping the environment, and that's worth it.
