3 MEN GO INTO A MOTEL. THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK SAID THE ROOM IS $30, SO EACH MAN PAID $10 AND WENT TO THE ROOM.

A WHILE LATER THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK REALIZED THE ROOM WAS ONLY $25, SO HE SENT THE BELLBOY TO THE 3 GUYS' ROOM WITH $5.

ON THE WAY, THE BELLBOY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SPLIT $5 EVENLY BETWEEN 3 MEN, SO HE GAVE EACH MAN A $1 AND KEPT THE OTHER $2 FOR HIMSELF.
THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID $9 FOR THE ROOM, WHICH IS A TOTAL OF $27, ADD THE $2 THAT THE BELLBOY KEPT = $29.

WHERE IS THE OTHER DOLLAR?

The price of the room went from $30 ($10 each) to $25 ($8.33 each). Each man was owed $1.66 back as change. By giving each man a dollar ($3 total) back that means that the bell boy kept the extra $0.66 ($2 total) owed to each man.
Each man paid $8.33 for the room, not $9. 3 x $8.33= $25 $25+$3+$2= $30

And adding the $27 paid and the $2 kept by the bellboy is the fallacy as the $27 represents the $25 real cost plus the $2 the bellboy kept. So you included tht $2 twice.

Hell if I was the bellboy I would have kept the $5 and not tell the 3 guys of the rate change.

The answer changes once you add in the 5$. Once the total is $30, not $25, then the original math is negated.

with one of the men.

once the rooms price has gone down to $25, it is irrelevant where the $30 IS, BUT THE $25 IS RELEVEANT. AND THE $25 IS ACCOUNTED FOR.

You are counting backward. All of the dollars are accounted for. Old joke.
