Did any of you experience very strong contractions after being examined? This was the first time that I had contractions that strong. They came and went for about an hour and half and then just stopped. They have been very few and far between since yesterday. But I never have had such strong pains after my exam! Is that normal? BTW, 38 weeks 1.5 centimeters dilated, 50% effaced. Thanks.

Congrats! Your body is just preparing itself for birth. At this point, the contractions are normal. Exams will irritate the cervix, causing it to spasm. If they get too uncomfortable, lay on your left side and try to relax. Good luck on the next few weeks!

Yes it is normal. Anything thats going to irritate your cervix is going to encourage contractions.
