Have any of you been so disrespected by a guest that it really caused you to lash back out at them??? Last night I had a RUDE party of 5.. They were so awful. They were stacking plate after plate on the clean table next to them, even though I was pre-bussing their table every other minute until I realized that they were doing this as a joke and to really tick me off. When I asked them did they need me to clear anything else she said " I guess we'll have to see but if we have anymore we'll throw them over there so u can get them". And as I was walking away she called me a *****. Has any of you ever been treated this way by a guest?

I worked at Office Depot for awhile and had a few rude customers. Talk to your manager next time and let him/her know that the table is being rude. You should not have to take being cursed at! Make sure your manager KNOWS that you are being treated in such a disrespectful manner. It's also possible that other patrons are annoyed by their dumbshxt antics as well.

My hat is off to you - good luck!

Bad guests are the worst, I usually go to the manager on duty and let them know how the table is acting, usually they go over there and say something to the table. Its not your job to be disrespected and you don't have to put up with it. I would have made sure the table they were stacking things on got sat next so they couldn't do it anymore. If all else fails, ignore them, who cares if they need drink refills or dessert.. they aren't going to tip well anyway if they are acting like that. Take them the check and don't go back over until there is money or a credit card on the table.

I was a waitress for five years, and I definitely had some jerks. The worst were the large tables that would not tip (not even gratuity) or the tables with kids that would run wild (and the parents did nothing to control them). Let your manager know next time so he or she can take care of it (and maybe kick them out!!!). Good Luck.

Absolutely! I work in a restaurant, and I was working in the same room as a new employee. Nice guy, just new at the job. Well, I guess he brought the woman at his table a chicken pot pie instead of turkey pot pie, and she just freaked out! Yes, it was his mistake, but it could've been easily resolved. She was yelling and screaming, even after he had went back to the kitchen to get her correct pot pie, about how their drinks were empty (they were 3/4 full!) and she was suprised he had the brains to talk. I went over to the table to get them refills, and she said, "oh great, another half wit." I looked at her straight in the face and said, "You're rude and obnoxious. People like you disgust me. I cannot believe you'd even go out and act this way in public. 3 year olds have more class than you." And walked off. She just sat there, shocked. She talked to the manager and freaked out on him, and then left. I wasn't punished, as other customers told my manager the woman was out of line, and I was just putting her in her place. I hope you called that lady a ***** back!

yes, I did a stint in that field for 10 years. I have had some winners. Unfortunately it goes with the territory. I just spend as little time at the table as possible, give them good service and pretty much ignore them. My parents raised me to be intelligent and courteous. I will not lower my standards for turds. On the other hand some of my co- workers have put Visine eye drops in the food , spit in food, droped food om floor and put it back on the plate and serve it. I have a problem with that, so for all of you out there who are jerks to your servers be aware that some servers to seek revenge!

Welcome to the re-tail world. I did spot work at McDonalds once. A customer came in and ordered, then went and sat down. She waited like 40 minutes then came up to the counter and asked why she hadn't been served yet. I told it's McDonalds lady. She threw a big fit, screaming and crying, that she didn't get her food. She expected it to be served to her like a resturant. She filled out a big complaint form with the manager that I promptly tore up in back, and she left. Thank God. I did give her some McNuggets that had been picked out from under the grill as a peace offering.

I had a costumer talk bad about me in Spanish. The ladies didn't know that I could understand and speak Spanish since I am white. They were saying that I am racist because I told them excuse me while I was taking another tables order. They were trying to interrupt me. So when I was finished taking the order I turned around and responded to them in Spanish. Boy did they turn white!!!! They asked to speak to my manger. I got her and told her what they had said. So she went to the table and stood up for me! (that's a rare occasion) The people had the nerve to tell her that they didn't know that I spoke Spanish. (like it's not a second language in this country). Well she gave the table to another server and they stiffed her too. Got to love the public!!!

As a pizza driver, I have had a knife pulled on me a couple of times, and a friend of mine had a gun pulled on him.

The other night, we had a customer who was not home when the original driver pulled up to his house, so he brought the pizza back to the store. When that customer called to ask where the hell his pizza was, the order was thrust at me. I was told to take it to him, and I was in such a hurry I failed to notice the 2-liter of Dr. Pepper on the order. The guy threatened to kick my *** on his dark porch when I got there, over 2 liters of Dr. Pepper. A little bit of soda is not worth my life or health, but it was to that guy.

I feel for you having to put up with rude customers, but try it in a dark front yard with someone physically threatening you.

I have and the best way I have found to deal with that is to tell them to go to hell BUT make them happy to be on their way. In other words find a way to make them feel bad about the way that they've treated you but do it with respectfullness. Not only might you recieve a better tip but that party will think twice about acting that way again when they are in public places.

Sometimes no matter what you do, nothing is ever good enough or some people. They intentionally set out to piss you off and act disrespectful. Jerks, may they eat a rotten apple.
