yea. dish is terrible in bad weather so you may as well get used to it. i'm an engineer for comcast, and even before i joined the company i loathed the dish. i had it in college and eventually threw my tv out the window onto the dish during a nice day with variable wind. go back to cable.. get comcast. you'll be happy with it.

Oh yea. What is really going to kill you is that sometimes there are these high flying thick clouds you really can't see, and it is sunny and blue and beautiful outside and the signal cant get through the clouds. But you know that i have had both cable and satellite and I've stayed with statellite even though i live in Florida and it is always raining here. My cable used to go out all the time too and I feel I actually get a better service from my dish.

Yes, it is common for it to go out during bad weather and when it is downloading info onto you box which is a bummer when your in the middle of a movie, that said it is better than cable..........

it is common. with dish, rain can block the signal so it goes out. also, if u have direct tv. u can check the signal, my husband does it so i cant tell u how to get there.but atleast u get more channels with dish

its a problem that people try to downplay..but I have seen nothing but sat communication in bad weather...hell I was at a bar last night and every single one of their tvs went out cause of a storm.

Properly installed, and aimed, it should only be a problem under the very worst conditions.
