My cousin lives four miles away from and i just bought him a computer, can hook him up to my router?

There is no economically practical way to do this.

If you wish to spend about $20,000 to install a point to point (dish to dish style) link and have a clear line of sight between the 2 locations (even 1 tree leaf will foul it up) you can achieve what you want. However, for that funding you could buy many years of broadband service.

Probably not, that's too far.

You would either need to run an optical fiber cable, or else, spend money and time on high-quality wireless gear and amplifiers. And the wireless would only work if you had line-of-sight between you, like if you live on opposite mountaintops.

That is way too far. There can be a lot of interference (wireless phone 2.4ghz etc.) between 4 miles. Which won't allow your cousin to connect at all.

If you can find an ethernet cable thats 21,120 feet long.
