everywhere i go with my family people give me dirty looks. My husband and i eloped when i was 14 and he was 17 (yes, it was legal in Massachusetts). Now he's a nurse and supports me and our 4 (5 come spring)children. I will never regret the decision i made early on in life. but i hate it when people judge me because of my age. We own our house, are not in debt, and the kids (ages 3, twin 2, and 1) are happy and well behaved. we regulary attend church and i have graduated high school, my husband has gone to college and is a RN. i love my life except for the fact that people judge us because we are so young, they automatically assume that we're not married, and are just living together with 4 "mistakes". each of our kids were planned. how can i get this across to them?

First of all, congrats on the happy life you both have built at such a young age. Now, how do you know what other people are thinking of you? For all you know, they assume you're much older and they're wondering "How in the world does she manage to look so young?"
Finally, although you're smart, independent and a mom of 4, you still think like a teenager (that's OK b'cos you are still a teen). You give too much importance to what other people think of you. As you grow older, you'll realise that other people don't waste too much time thinking about you and your life (they have their life and their problems to worry about). And even if they do you don't care too much what other people think because you have more important things to worry about.

I hate to say it, but in todays society, people are quick to judge. You arent going to be able to get people to let up. I wouldnt worry about what people say. If you are happy with the decisions you have made, and the most important, how your family feels then who cares about everyone else! I am glad that your husband has made a decent career decision so that the two of you will be able to support your family.

I may have a child on the way. And no matter what,He or she (hopeing for a girl) is NOT a mistake. I hate it when ppl say that. Problem is ppl will think what they want and we have t stand by our close friends for our support.we cant care about what others have to say about our lives.I dont regret a single thing either.Im happy with who ive become and exspecially with who im with.No matter what u just have to stand by what u believe and know is right.Thats all u can do. Although it is not common to marry at 14 there are many young adults married at 16+. When I was in the service it was full of married 17yr olds as that is the entry age into military service. Of course some of these mens spouses where 16 maybe even younger. Ignore the ignorant you owe them NO EXPLANATION! Just enjoy your life as you and your family see fit.

The best thing you can do is...Be Happy! Others who say nasty things must be unhappy with themselves. I'm proud of you! You have your head on straight and obviously know what you want out of life. Being a mom and wife is the hardest job on the planet, but it's also the best!

Aww sweety, you're not at all a slut, next time someone says anything to you, flash that wedding ring you have on your finger at them. You shouldn't pay attention to other people's reactions as long as you are happy, that's all that matters! You're already doing better than I am, I've had 2 kids (with the same man) but we're not married. Take care of those little miracles! =)

wow i hope this is a true story. If it is im glad to hear that not all the teens that want to get pregnant are doing it for the wrong reason. if your happy with yout life, dont worry about what other people think. and if this is a fake made up story. it sounds like a good one. either way, good job!

Just don't worry about what other people think. Their opinions are theirs. My grandpa told me a long time ago, that opinions are like buttholes everyone has one and they all stink. You know in your heart that your family is built on purity, so let them think what they want to, what matters is that you know the truth, and those who are truly interested in knowing you and your family will accept the truth. The others have their own issues to deal with.

As Long as you are Proud Of who you are... Forget what other people think. You Live the way you want to live. If you love your husband & kids and believe they weren't mistakes..you rule your life. Don't even worry about it. Most people tend to overjudge without any knowledge of what's going on. You are happy, you are in a great relationship, you love your kids and take care of them. Who cares what everyone else thinks. That is your life and if people feel weird about it, then let them deal with it. Take care : )
