i think there may have been a tidbit of information i picked up somewhere along the way that said for some reason, babies arent supposed to eat berries (whether cut up or purreed) until 12 months. is this true? if so, why not? and is it all berries or just some?

Babies aren't supposed to have strawberries, peanut butter, eggs ,or honey until at least 12months. The honey because of botulism. The others because of allergic reactions. If a baby were to have an anaphylactic reaction their airways are so small they would most likely die before they reached the ER. Just in case you don't know anaphylactic reactions cause your airways to swell shut. All of these foods have been noted to cause allergic reactions

This is a good question. I give my son berry stuff all the time. I think its a hoax. I mean, he doesnt sit and eat berries for a meal, but theyre in his baby food anyway right?

They say no strawberries until theyre a year, but the stage one foods include bananas and strawberry, and the ingredients say theyre real ones. so what the heck?

I'll want to hear what others have to say, because this is a big question of my own.
