Time to check ammonia and nitrites. Change the water. Bottom sitting is a sure sign of stress. Stress is directly connected most often to poor water conditions. When problems arise stop feeding and start changing the water.

He could have ick, if you notice any white spots on him I suggest you go buy medicine to take care of it. I had a kissing fish with ick and it just stayed on the body of the tank and hardly nibbled on food. Though eventually I kept giving ick medicine and he was fine. Speaking of it now he is still living :).

sounds like a small tank, and poor water quality. They usually are the reasons.

What size tank and what type of filter.

It also sounds like poor circulation in the tank, which indicates the poor filter.

While im guessing with your set-up, it does sound like it is small and poor water.

Goldfish need at least 55 gallons to fully develop(fancies only, comets will need larger) also a canister filter is best for them. It will take care of the high ammonia levels produced by the goldfish.

He may be depressed. Does he have a friend or friends in there with him? If not, why not get him one or two and see if he perks up. What is life without a friend?
