I call them access roads but I've heard people here call them feeder roads. I cannot bring myself to call them that!

texas has the best road system around because along side most interstates in the city and sometimes on into the country you have side roads called feeder road because they feed the interstate with traffic. not sure who named them but if ever the road is blocked you can always hop on the feeder and go around. or get out of traffic and easily turn around at the next intersection of crossover. its the best.

We sometimes call motorway slip roads feeder roads here!

Because the SERVICE that they perform is to FEED the main lanes of the freeway with new traffic.

It is for traffic if its backed up.If you want to turn around.Its where you go if you exit.
