1. My husband and I are TTC for 2 months now. When we "finish" I put a pillow under my butt. I have noticed some leakage (sorry if TMI). Is this normal? Could this be why I am not pregnant?
2. We are going to a cook out tonight. Would it be safe for me to have a drink?

The leakage is just semen, not sperm. The substance is what carries the sperm into the vagina. It is completely normal, the sperm actually leave the seminal (sp?) fluid and swim up to the fallopian tubes to fertilize the egg. You will have leakage after sex, no matter how you position yourself. Don't worry, sperm are strong swimmers!

As for #2, if you haven't ovulated yet this cycle, enjoy that drink! I wouldn't have more than a couple though because alcohol can impair fertility. If you're in the two week wait and think you could be pregnant, I'd avoid drinking. I know how you feel, I have a cookout tomorrow and I'd love to have a drink but because I'm in the TWW and think I may have been successful I'm going to have some water instead.

GOOD LUCK!

1. The leakage is the seminal fluid. The sperm normally stays in you. The semen was the vehicle they used to get out of your hubby. Now the semen isn't necessary. The sperm is inside you, and flowing with the help of your cervical mucus.

Why you are not pregnant is a mystery. It usually takes people an average of 6 months to conceive.

I can give you a couple hints, though:
1. Get on fertilityfriend.com and start charting your basal body temperature, your cervical mucus texture, and start taking ovulation tests to find out when you will ovulate.

2. Have an appt. with your obgyn and let him know you want to conceive. They might test you for some things, and they will give you free samples of prenatal vitamins, which are VERY important to take even before you try to conceive.

3. Honestly, I don't think a drink would hurt, but it is recommended that you don't. Many women don't get pregnant until they HAVE a drink! lol. Relaxing helps. I had a friend who had 3 kids. Top of their classes, athletic heroes, excellent A students, and nice-looking, and she smoked cigarettes, smoked marijuana, and drank 3-4 beers a few times a week during all her pregnancies!

I have one baby, and never smoked or drank anything, and she is very smart and beautiful. It would be just my luck that if I did something bad, my baby would be terribly deformed.

Yes the leakage you are experiencing is most likely seamen and not sperm at all. The seamen is what helps the sperm along. Also it is your own discharge of cervical mucus. The difference between seamen and sperm is the seamen is clear and slick and sperm is white and sticky. The both come from the ejaculation at the same time. If you are on a fertile part of your cycle you will probably not leak sperm at all. The second question is go ahead and drink but don't overdo it. If you live your life like you are pregnant all the time and then end up not being pregnant at all you will miss out on a lot of things. A small amount of alcohol will not hurt an unimplanted baby. Good luck!

The leakage is the seman leaking out! Yes they say that sometimes the uterus can be tilted to acheive an easer passage for the sperm to find an egg by putting the pillow under yuor bottom with your legs in the air:) Crazy huh? Yes most certainly you may enjoy a beverage, and you should because 9 months is a long time. Enjoy

yes it is normal to have leakage and you still can get pregnant not all of it will come out. it only takes one of the little guys to fertilize an egg. As far as the drinking many women do drink before they realize they are pregnant. My opnion I wouldnt drink knowing you are TTC just in case. Good Luck!!

2 months is not long enough to even label yourself as "trying". Thats a grand total of around 48 hours that youve had an egg ready for sperm. Dont even start with that "we've been trying and trying" mentality. It will bite you in the butt.

All the semen needed for pregnancy is shot directly through the cervix and into the uterus so it can travel against gravity to the ovum. What comes out is what wasnt needed. Your body does not absorb semen, it comes back out. Putting a pillow under your butt has nothing more than a placebo effect. If you do it because it makes you feel productive, go right to it. But dont stress what comes out, its supposed to.

As for taking a drink, its fine. Dont get sloshed, but a drink or two will not hurt you or baby. Chances are it will make you horney and you can have more sex. lol.

Your baby will not share your blood stream until you are about 8 weeks pregnant, because thats when the placenta is formed and finally functional.

Ok, this is what happened to me, so I dont know if I got lucky or what happened, but its worth a shot. Everyone knows that the cervix opens a little during an orgasm. After sex when we would finish, I would (sorry if tmi but you asked) make sure I would have an orgasm by myself (but not in there to disturb the sperm) and I would do this while I was laying down with my butt propped up. If you dont have a mild climax during his orgasm, its harder to move the sperm up there. Just try it several times. It worked for me! :) And good luck!!!
