My girlfriend cleans my apartment all the time. It's not her job to, but she does it. I never ask her to do it. She does it because she cares about me. When she sees a mess she cleans it up. I would do it myself, but she's more compulsive. I have to "get around to it". So it's a give and take type of thing. She doesn't have to ask me to fix things in her apartment, or to change her oil when it needs to be done. Give and take, man. Remember that.

Here's the deal. You've got all these "women's libbers" on here saying that it's not her job... that you should clean your apartment yourself, and you know that the only reason they're saying that is because they are lazy.

For the last 2000 years, it has been women's job to cook, clean, and make babies. They don't want to hear it, but it's true. American women are lazy... period.

Look at other cultures. At least we don't make our women wear those sexy little maid costumes like the French people do.

I have always told my daughters not to date men who accomplish less than they do.

As in, if she has a car, a job, an apartment and goes to school he should at least have the same.

Part of the reasoning, which my girls do grasp, is so that she is not the only competent partner.

So, no, I did not train my girls that it is their job to carry any of their boyfriend's responsibilities.

Either he does it or he doesn't.

The ones that do make good partners.

The ones that don't.....well, they don't.

I wouldn't call it her job, but it is a nice thing for her to do for her boyfriend. Not only that but I know that sometimes guys are um ... how to put this nicely ... slobs, and if I have to chill there I don't want to be chilling in a pig pen and would therefore end up cleaning ...

If she makes a mess in his house, she should clean it up. However, if it's his mess, he should clean it up. It's the same if it was the other way around. If he makes a mess in her house, he should clean it up. If it's her mess, she should clean it up.

Not really big on romance, are you?

How charming, "Sure come on over to my place and clean like you're supposed to."

I'll call the maid service for you.

You can pretend she's your girlfriend.
