I haven't encountered any pc-based software that would let you call pc-telephone for free.
skype and yahoo messenger gives you free unlimited pc-to-pc calls but both charges pc-to-telephone calls in most countries all over the world. on the bright side, they charge a lot less than making phone-phone calls.
too bad skype and yahoomessenger is blocked by ETISALAT.

currently there is no service available in UAE to make PC - Telephone free calls. however, there are lot of private companies who offer dirt cheap rate to make calls from your PC to Telephone. All you have to do is log in to there website, buy the package and start calling. You would be able to call India at local charges. this service is banned by Etisalat. But still you can find it being used in many internet cafe's around U.A.E.

I don't know the answer but when I lived there skype was banned. Funny that as the government owns the telephone network and censors the internet,

I don't think that there is a "Free" telecommunication from PC to Telephone. If you use Skypey, TelNet or Yahoo! Messenger>>> You have to pay first online.. From PC to PC is free for sure.

try the yahoo messenger or hotmail messenger . u can even video talk on these.

Use skype!!! Its brill and if you both use it its free.........
