That depends mostly on what the teacher teaches, and how well they do it. Science should teach how to think and how things work. It should be of interest to anyone who wants to use their mind rather than waste it. Sadly, a bad teacher can ruin even science for most students.

Physical science. Intro to Chemistry one semester to Intro Physics other term.
Some concepts:
Chemistry Portion
What are:
Atoms
Protons
Neutrons
Electrons
Acids
Bases
Types of matter, states of matter
Diffusion
Osmosis
List goes on.
Most students find chemistry more difficult because you can not often "see" it but "know" it is there. To kids it is an abstract concept and they don't see it. A passionate teacher who loves subject "good" teacher can help you understand/visualize concepts best as possible
Physics: Intro
Bernoulli's, Arcihmedes Principles
Newton's laws etc.
List goes on
Most kids find this easier and more enjoyable. More hands on visual concepts.
Newton's laws are usually fun in classroom. Most teachers have a favorite subject or passion. while they do their best and a fine job teaching all, The subject/concepts they most love/like will come through. kids usually like those best too.
Happy 8th grade science.
Ps if you run into trouble/confused get help right away. Don't be timid/shy or say I'll get it later. Science builds on each concepts in a particular order. If you don't understand the basics it can confuse you all the more in HS /college science. etc
No worries though. I somewhat liked science in Jr high. Then fell in love with it in hs. Majored in college and taught many kids like yourself and h.s. kids for years:)

Curiosity about how life works and how we came to be here is something that religion has systematically sucked all the fun out of for some people. for others maybe such as yourself you just have very different interests than science but try your best anyway.
You will feel like a complete fool later in life if you get caught off guard with a question you "should know" like in trivia games, which innocent bystanders get sucked into all the time. or when you have kids of your own and they keep saying "Why" all the time.

well, i remember kids in my school when i was in 8th grade were kind of excited about learning about the human body and reproduction and all that kind of stuff. i don't remember ever having a more interesting class. goodluck and try not to laugh infront of the boys. i suggest a seat at the back with your BFFs or something so you'd be able to notice the looks on everybody's faces and make fun!!! those days were fun
goodluck and remember my tips they're helpful and tested plus i'm a senior at high school so it wasn't that long since i was where you are right now!
goodluck
