I just got 2 spotted pictus catfish and they're bottom dwellers. I'm not sure if I should have the light on or not.

absolutely, leave the light on for 10-12 hours during the day, and turn it off for 12-14 hours at night

Hope that helps
Good luck

it doesnt matter, they will not die or get sick if the light is on.

They tend to be more nocturnal, but with time they will come out alot during the day.

Bottom dwellers, doesnt mean light haters. it is just a generic term. that means nothing. just that these fishes live on the bottom.

You can leave it on just provide some caves or tunnel for them to go in if they want but really you don't need it on unless you are home to watch them, the light is mostly for your benefit not the fishes.
