Will I be able to get pregnant in the future... or will it damage it?

IF you have an abortion done by a certified medical doctor and not some crack-pot your chances of conceiving again are as good as if you had miscarried on your own. You only risk your future fertility by trying to go cheap on your physician. Follow all their directions after your procedure, do not deviate.

I am sorry, but this question has kind of distressed me!
How old are you for a start, and if you don't want a baby, why did you have unprotected sex? do you have a partner? Do they know you are prgnant?
Why don't you want this baby? But will want one in the future?
This is a life, how ever you look at it. They will grow in to a human, and if you have an abortion, you will end this life before it has had a chance.
Think about this before jumping in. Once you have done it, you can't go back.
There are plenty of people that would love your baby. It may be hard giving them up when you give birth to them, but just think of the life that they will lead, and how you will feel knowing that you have given them the best start in life. That feeling has to be better than the one of abortion!!!
Whatever you decide, it is a choice that will stay with you forever, your baby didn't ask to be made, but you have to give it life.
You seem so flipant about this, this is not a form of birth control, you need to speak to a nurse, doctor or family planner about the best contraceptive for you and stop this from happening again.
Or even refrain from sex until you are mature enough to raise a child.
Please take care and really think this through.

You can still get pregnant after having an abortion. I know somebody who had more than one abortion and now has a kid (boy do I feel sorry for that kid too!). However, if you don't want the child you're carrying you should have thought about that first and used protection, then you wouldn't be in this situation now would you??

Think before acting....
If you don't want to get pregnant, you have a few options...
A) get on birth control pills
B) use a condom
C) use a spermicide
D) Keep your legs closed until you want to have a child with your husband.
Abortion is not a method of birth control so please don't treat it as such. If you're old enough to have sex, you're old enough to be responsible about it and about the consequences of it...hence your pregnancy, if you were mature enough you would have thought about it before hand and done something to prevent and unwanted pregnancy.

You'll never know until you after the abortion has affected you, its a really low risk but you have to prepare for the chance.

And to all those people out there talking rubbish, accidents happen to good people, im sure this girl didnt mean for this to happen, it happens to alot of people, unwanted pregnancy, and i think shes doing the right thing, as if she had the child that was unwanted or she was unable to provide for it would be damaging and if she gave it away it would also be damaging.

What everyou decide to do you know whats best.

All the luck in the future. =D

It is not guaranteed that something wouldn't go wrong, causing problems that would stop you getting pregnant in the future, also some women although fertile, only ever manage to have one baby in their lifetime, what if the aborted baby was that only child.

You can have an abortion and you can have no problems in the future... but you can also have problems where scar tissue remains after the abortion. It depends on the doctor, and the proceedure. You have to decide whether or not the risk is worth it. I don't agree with abortion, thats just my opinion tho, your choice.

Most likely you will be able to get pregnant again, but there is always a possibility of something going wrong but is very slim as long as you go to a reputable place. also keep in mind that if you have an abortion, you could possibly get pregnant again and very soon after, so if you do decide to go through with it which is YOUR decision and YOUR decision only! be very sure to do EVERYTHING possible to prevent another pregnancy before your ready.

There is no certainty for either answer. I have a friend that had 2 abortions in college and has been trying to get pregnant ever since. I have another grade school friend that had an abortion in high school and she has 3 healthy little kids. I guess it depends on the doctor that does the abortion.

Abortions are very safe these days; but if you decide to go ahead with it, you must look after your body afterwards. go for your check-up, have regular smears, that sort of thing. Occasionally, infection can set in after an abortion which can affect your fallopian tubes and lead to difficulties when you DO want a baby...so follow all medical advice.

An abortion will not affect your chances of having a baby in the future.
